Default dusting of the old psp
short of reassembling it a few months ago, i havent touched my psp in over a year. im just wondering what is some of the latest news. mainly what firmware to update to, if i even should, where the best place is to get good homebrew, that kind of stuff.

i used to know all of this stuff pretty well but its been so long im just out of the loop.

5.50 gen d 2 is the latest but isn't quite so good for homebrew as 5.03 m33-3

newest ISOs (6.xx) need to be decrypted in order to work on the latest CFWs

ya im just confused because i couldnt find a 5.03 m33-3 at -hacks. anyway im on 5.00 m33-6 now, which was the latest m33 i could find. dark-alex.org is down for maintainence right now too

well if you use m33 just set the m33 network update in the vsh menu to /on and you can use the network update feature on the xmb to update to the latest custom firmware

ok thanks beak.

edit: after enabling the network update in vsh, i restarted and went to the network update in the xmb. i connected to my wireless and got

"connection to the server failed. A DNS error has occured. (80410414)"

what does this mean? i can connect to the internet just fine but the network updated doesnt work

that might be the problem. i didnt realize dax had been out of the game for a while. i liked his work, good stable firmwares and solid brew imo.
